2. Website visits and technical logs
Your browser sends connection and request data needed to serve the website, including your IP address, time, requested address and browser information, to the web server. This data is processed to deliver the website, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestrasse 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on a server in Nuremberg. Routine access logs are disabled for this website. If an error occurs, technical logs may include the IP address, time, requested URL and error details. These website error logs rotate daily and are normally retained for no more than approximately 14 days. Extracts needed to investigate a specific security incident may be retained until it is resolved or as necessary for legal claims.
Server-wide security logs can also contain IP addresses, connection times and details of blocked connections. They protect the server. Firewall logs rotate weekly when they contain entries, with four previous log files retained. Rotation does not occur when there are no new entries.
3. Cookies and local settings
This website sets no analytics cookies and loads no analytics SDK. Fonts and images are served locally. We embed no maps, videos or social plugins.
By default, the website follows your device’s light or dark appearance setting. If you use the theme switch, your browser stores only that choice as rototype-theme in Local Storage. It contains no visitor identifier and is not sent to our server. The choice remains until changed or removed by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings. You can also block storage there; the website remains usable but will not remember your choice permanently.
3a. Browser analytics disabled
Optional PostHog browser analytics was disabled on 18 October 2026. The website sends no new analytics events to PostHog and displays no consent or analytics settings controls. This also applies if you previously accepted analytics.
A previously saved rototype-analytics-consent-v1 entry may remain in your browser’s Local Storage. The website no longer reads or uses it. You can remove it through the site data controls in your browser settings.
Disabling analytics does not automatically delete historical data already sent. For questions or deletion requests, contact kontakt@rototype.ch. Technical logs used for operation and security remain separate; see section 2.
4. Contact form and email
The form processes your entries (name or company, email address, selected service and enquiry) locally in your browser. It does not send them to a form server or save a draft in our systems. At your request, the preview opens your email application with prepared text. Alternatively, text is written to your clipboard only when you press Copy. Subsequent draft and clipboard storage or synchronisation depends on your device and application settings.
Only when you send the email do we receive the sender details, message, any attachments and technical email metadata. We use them to respond to your enquiry, ask follow-up questions and prepare or carry out the engagement you requested. Please provide only necessary details and do not enter passwords or sensitive personal data in this form.
The kontakt@rototype.ch mailbox uses OVHcloud Zimbra (OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France). Mailbox data is stored in France. Your own email provider is also involved in delivery; its processing is governed by your relationship with it. Email is not automatically encrypted end to end.
5. Recipients and processing abroad
The controller and the hosting and email providers have access as needed for operation, maintenance and security. The processing described above takes place in Switzerland, Germany (web hosting) and France (email hosting). Germany and France are recognised as providing adequate data protection in Annex 1 to the Swiss Data Protection Ordinance.
We do not sell visitor or contact data. We disclose data to authorities where legally required. Documents needed to establish, exercise or defend specific legal claims may be disclosed to the relevant authorities, courts or instructed legal advisers.
6. Retention and security
Enquiries and correspondence are retained as long as needed to handle the enquiry, perform any resulting engagement or protect legal claims. They are then deleted unless a statutory retention duty applies. In particular, accounting records and other business documents subject to statutory retention may have to be kept for ten years under Article 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations; that period does not automatically apply to every informal enquiry.
The website uses HTTPS. Access to the server and mailbox is restricted to authorised persons. Technical safeguards help prevent unauthorised access and data loss; no internet transmission can provide absolute protection.
7. Your rights
You may request access to your personal data and correction of inaccurate data. Subject to the legal requirements, you may also request deletion, object to processing or request restrictions. Where the conditions are met, you have a right to receive or transfer your data. You may withdraw any consent given with effect for the future.
Contact kontakt@rototype.ch or the postal address above. We may request proportionate proof of identity to prevent unauthorised disclosure. Access requests are generally free of charge and answered within 30 days; we will inform you if a statutory exception applies.
You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Statutory retention duties and overriding protected interests may limit individual rights.
8. Automated decisions and changes
This website does not conduct profiling or make automated individual decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Preparing the email text is simply a local input aid.
We update this notice when processing practices or legal requirements change. The version published here applies, with the date shown above.
